On Wednesday September 29 NCRN hosted a conversation with the lawyers from CELDF. This conversation was compelling and reinvigorating; authentic humans talking about their backgrounds and inspirations to practice law, in direct contrast to the corporate-influenced, classist judicial system. Fierce, determined lawyers working and supporting the rights of communities and individuals to practice direct democracy through initiative and referendum, and/or non-violent direct action. Thanks to Karen Hoffman, Kira Kelly, Terry Lodge and Lindsey Schromen-Wawrin for walking their talk, doing their work and being a part of the community rights and rights of Nature movement.
